Hawai‘i Life Represents …
Kyle Bernhardt
Realtor Salesperson, O‘ahu
“Rather than a ‘high price deal,’ I think the best accomplishments are getting those first time buyers settled into their own place. That was a huge step in my life and it’s the most rewarding helping others take that step too.”
As a surfer and surfboard builder, Kyle moved to the place he had always dreamt of in 1999, the North Shore of O‘ahu. His fascination with real estate began in 1986, when his tenant/landlord relationship began. But it wasn't until 2008 that he finally became a homeowner. Today, Kyle and his family are enjoying their daily lives in the most beautiful place on earth. Whether he’s building a custom surfboard or helping a client out with a property, it’s his passion to deliver an amazing experience.
What does representation mean to you?
Representation is a big word and it can be vast because everyone is so unique. You can have someone who is super sophisticated and knows a lot, representation for them could mean going to a meeting with attorneys for hours. On the other hand, it could be holding someone's hand as a first time buyer and guiding them through how it all works. There might be a seller who is facing health issues, and in situations like that we might have to step up and clean the toilets for a showing. It’s all about showing up for them.
What does “Hawai‘i Life” mean to you?
To me, “Hawai‘i Life” means enjoying the ocean every day with my wife and kids, if possible, and valuing a work-life balance. With a brokerage like Hawai‘i Life that really understands that balance and encourages the lifestyle, I can really be productive in my work. I feel like Hawai‘i Life is sophisticated in terms of how they present themselves and I view them as a classy organization. They uphold a clean outward appearance and behind it is professional educated, people doing good jobs. This is them representing me, simply by keeping their standards high. I feel like they have my back.
Where are you located in Hawai‘i and what makes it a special place?
North shore is especially unique because we are not a newer or cookie cutter community. Our situations can be a bit more complicated with houses that don’t match tax records and extra problems and hoops to jump through that are particular to the North Shore. It’s a small close knit real estate community, so there isn’t a long list of phone calls to make when you have a property coming up, which is kind of cool. We have a range of properties from $400 grand condos to $14 million beachfront homes, so no one is stuck in one specific price point.
