Hawai‘i Life Represents …
Noel Shaw
Realtor Salesperson, O‘ahu
“The reason that people are choosing us is that we are living authentically. They are getting a more casual and local version of real estate while not lacking in any professionalism or knowledge.”
Noel has extensive experience working with international sellers, investors and clients with an interest in Hawai‘i’s luxury properties. Most recently, she represented Honolulu’s billion-dollar luxury development Park Lane Ala Moana – considered one of the most affluent and successful developments in the Pacific. Noel is a Honolulu native, from a large real estate family who does business on every island. Hawai‘i and its unique way of life holds utmost importance to her. The culture, tradition and natural beauty are treasures that Noel loves to share.
What does representation mean to you?
Being authentic is exactly what comes to mind. In my representation of my clients, Hawaiʻi Life allows room for me to operate with the most authenticity possible. For people coming to Hawaiʻi, or even locals moving to a new island or neighborhood, our role is to hold your hand through the process and be your guiding light for years to come. Transitions for clients can be emotionally challenging, and we need to be able to integrate them properly and guide them through each step with care.
And it’s similar for agents. Hawai‘i Life is here to guide me through different and exciting and sometimes difficult transactions. Everyone at Hawaiʻi Life is just a cell phone call away, which is important because we are dealing with huge transactions that need to be handled correctly.
What does “Hawai‘i Life” mean to you?
Hawaiʻi Life allows me to uniquely be myself, which is when I can do the best work for my clients. The way that Hawai‘i Life agents carry themselves is completely different from other brokerages. The reality is that Hawai‘i operates differently and Hawai‘i Life gets that. They need to be different in order to serve the people here right. Because Hawai‘i Life has the local mindset and persona, we can do business the way that’s needed in order to properly handle transactions in Hawai‘i, which is carefully, cautiously, and with a special understanding of the history and how things work here.
Where are you located in Hawaiʻi and what makes it a special place?
I’m located in Diamond head, right on the outskirts of Waikiki. The first luxury homes built on O‘ahu were back on the slopes of Diamond Head, raised homes looking over the city, catching the breezes trade winds. Kahala didn’t exist yet, it was just tarot fields.
Honolulu is an urban city but if you park yourself in the right position, you can find something very walkable. Being close to luxury establishments while remaining right next to beaches and hikes makes Honolulu one of the most unique cities in the US, in this regard. People who come to Honolulu, even from neighboring islands, want the best of both worlds. They want the action while still getting the same island life atmosphere and activities as the other islands.
